The park has a wide area to explore by bike, on foot or even in a race, if you are the sporty type. Strawberry Fields is one of the park’s most famous spots and it honors the singer John Lennon. It also is one of the best places to visit in New York in the winter, because you not only can enjoy the incredible scenery, but the ice skating ring as well.

Times Square

Among the places to visit in NY, Times Square is definitely the most vibrant and where you can really feel the city’s energy. 

The signs and shops spreads everywhere, along with the traffic of people and cars, will excite anyone. To observe all of this, go to the highest red step that you can find, and join the thousand of tourists that take some time to appreciate the view.    

5th Avenue

The 5th Avenue is one of the best places to visit in New York, for those who want to do great shopping. By the way, it is worth visiting even if you don’t have that much money, because we don’t always get to see some famous brand’s storefronts, like Prada and Chanel. 

And if your goal is to find good electronics, you won’t be disappointed: it’s on this avenue that you can find the Apple Store, the famous one with glass walls and lots of gadgets for sale. 

Rockefeller Center

Everybody knows that the city buildings have  great views, and going to the Rockefeller center, specially the GE Building, you will have one of the best. Its 360º view to Manhattan can be enjoyed during the day or at night. But here’s a tip: go at sundown.

Maybe you’ll end up using it to reach some tourist attraction, and it would almost be a sin if you didn’t. 

After all, it is not just a station: it’s a space with unique architecture, filled with shops and good restaurants, including the delicious Shake Shack. 

Brooklyn Bridge

The bridge connects the neighborhood to Manhattan and can also be crossed by bike or even by car, but we all know  that this last option takes some of the fun out of it, right?

The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is the main symbol of the city, and must be on any list of places to visit in New York. To see it up close, there is no way out: you must go by the sea, taking the journey in one of the ferries that take the tourists to the island.

High Line

The High Line is one of the places where you can see the Statue of Liberty, and it is another great city park, built on old elevated train tracks.

 In addition to the view, the High Line also has an extensive green area and hosts incredible events during hot seasons, like shows and movies. The famous Chelsea Market is close by, so if you get hungry, just go buy something and have a picnic.

New York Public Library

One of the best places to visit in New York in the winter and in the summer is the Public Library, where you can get in for free and is welcoming to  residents and visitors. 

Since you don’t live in the city, you can’t borrow the books, but the visit is worth it just to see the spectacular architecture up close and be surrounded by books and exhibitions. 

9/11 Memorial

 The 9/11 Memorial is dedicated to the victims of the September 11 bombing, and, when it was first opened, it got into the “What to do in New York” list. You can see the names of the victims and visit the museum that tells more about the episode.

While you’re there, go visit the Freedom Tower, or One World Trade Center, considered the highest building in the country.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral
